Great River House is located in a private gated neighborhood of other upscale villas, the entire property is fenced and entered through wrought iron gates, ensuring complete privacy. Grounds include a putting green and a spacious grassy lawn with badminton and croquet. Fruit trees enhance the manicured lawns. Royal Palms, citrus, and pimento trees are lit each evening.

Locally-crafted mahogany furniture reflects an old Jamaica ambiance, complemented by designer fabrics. Interiors are distinguished by artwork by famous illustrators Arthur Taylor, and George Rodrique, and original botanical and Jamaican watercolors and oils. The large serpentine pool features an infinity waterfall edge, fountain, expansive stone terrace, and divided shallow children's pool.

Candlelight dinners are served in an interior air-conditioned dining room where guests may enjoy a view over the pool and its infinity edge to the sea beyond. Meals may also be served al fresco on the 2,400-square-foot pool terrace. The chef treats guests to fresh fish and grilled lobster, and everyone's favorite, jerk pork and chicken prepared on our jerk drum. Also, farm-to-table fruit, herbs, and avocados are grown on the property.

Accommodations

All five bedrooms have mahogany floors, fine linens, pillow menus, quiet remote control air conditioning, ceiling fans, a wireless audio system, and an Internet signal. Bathrooms feature Kohler fixtures, wall sprays, and rain tile showers. 

East Wing-

Master Bedroom - 400 sq ft
Antique Jamaican 4-poster king-size bed and sliding doors to a private balcony with a Caribbean Sea view. Cable television. 200-square-foot en suite bathroom with walk-in shower, side and overhead water tiles, and marble vanity with his and hers sink basins. Opens to the pool terrace.

West Wing-

King-size bed; en suite bath with walk-in shower and rain tiles. Writing desk and over-stuffed reading chair. Overlooks garden.

West Wing Lower Level-

Patio Bedroom
Optional king-size or twin beds in a very private bedroom. En-suite bathroom with large walk-in shower with ceiling and wall rain tiles, marble counter with his & hers double sink basins. Writing desk. Opens to a private patio and seating area with a garden view.

Round Hill Membership

A special amenity available to guests in this villa is membership at Round Hill just minutes from the villa and one of the finest private resorts on Jamaica's North Coast. Round Hill offers a beach, pool, chaise lounges, towels, jogging trail, gift shop, logo shop, library with computer, bar, afternoon tea, Wednesday Manager's Cocktail Party, basketball court, tennis courts, and unforgettable long sunsets from the waterfront terrace. Guests must check in at the front desk on your first visit before enjoying the amenities at Round Hill.

Additional Amenities (fee required):

• Kids’ Club: The cost for Pineapple Kid’s Club is US$27.50 daily per child. Children three years to twelve years old.  Children zero to three years old same cost but must be accompanied by a nanny. The hours of the Club are 9 am-5 pm. Lunch is not included (parents collect children for lunch).
• Gym: $50 per person per day for any guests in Round Hill Villas or villas with Round Hill membership (this fee should be paid at the front desk before using the gym)
