In 1906, Dr. McCatty donated his beach property to found a bathing club in Montego Bay. The Club got its name because it was used by Dr. McCatty and his friends, mainly medical professionals who believed in its healing waters. At that time they entered the tiny beach through a cave. The crystal, clear water has a temperature range in winter and summer from 78 to 84 degrees Fahrenheit, 22 to 28 Celsius. Doctor’s Cave Beach was named one of the “best family beaches in the Caribbean” by Caribbean Travel & Life.
