Enter a quarter-mile driveway, beautifully landscaped with brilliant bougainvillea on all sides.  Then see the Travertine-paved Italianate courtyard which is the dramatic entrance to Viviana.  You're home.  On a remarkable six private acres on a plum site at the prestigious Tryall Club, Viviana is distinguished by the top rank of Premier. The heated pool is entered via a non-slip ankle-deep kiddie section.  Just beyond, 3 steps lead down to a 3-foot depth.  Wonderful for children. Maximum depth at the far end is 5 feet.

From the pool terrace, a spiral stairway leads up to a dreamy loft with a wet bar, kingsize deck bed and magnificent sea view.  Travel-weary vacationers may nap here.  Star-gazers may spend nights here.  (A half bath is just down the spiral steps.)

The inside dining room seats up to 18.  However, most guests choose to dine more casually on the rustic blue wood and glass table under an arbor of white Thumberger blossoms cascading from an overhead lattice.  Hummingbirds, wild canaries and handsome yellow bellies are drawn to the nectar and are the delight of bird watchers.

The Viviana staff have invented a unique treat for their guests.  Once each week, they produce Jamaica Day, a full day and evening of bona fide Jamaican foods, entertainment and lessons in Patois.  The evening culminates in a torchlight party on the lawn.  Indelible vacation memorable for parents and children alike!

Something I found to be almost magically remarkable is the quiet of Viviana.  To melt back into the deep cushions of a wicker chaise and close your eyes invites only the sounds of birds, the rustling of palm fronds and the wind.

I'd be remiss if I did not mention the seamless teamwork of the Viviana staff and the talents of our chef.  From homemade Caesar Salad and Gazpacho to Lobster Thermador and Grand Marnier Souffle’s (Chocolate Sundaes for the kids), Milton is a marvelous creative talent.

Under a 20' peaked cedar ceiling, Viviana's Great Room features two dramatic mirrored granite bars with mini-fridge and icemaker. The Great Room opens on three sides to shaded outdoor sitting areas and the sunny pool terrace. A fenced gallery-type walkway wraps around a lush central atrium with fountain and koi pond.  The gallery leads to the main level bedroom wing. 

Accommodations

Four bedrooms are on the main level.  Proximity of parents and children's bedrooms define Viviana as an excellent family villa. Architectural setbacks of each bedroom have created extraordinarily design of private bedrooms and balconies, although none is far from the others.  While near, each feels quite private.

Downstairs are the second Master Bedroom and nearby sixth bedroom, also a good family combination. Just around the corner is the very large Games Room with pool table, ping pong table, sitting alcove, 70-inch plasma television and option for three additional twin beds.  A full bath with shower is just across the corridor.

Each bedroom opens to its own private furnished balcony with lovely view over the 14th fairway and the sea.  Each en-suite bathroom is glamorously designed in floor-to-ceiling cream and gray-brown imported Travertine marble.  All 7 showers feature rainfall showerheads.  Two master bathrooms include deep soaking bathtubs.  All bathrooms feature double-basin granite and mahogany vanities, oversize mirrors, his n hers cotton pique robes, complimentary toiletries and a generous supply of fluffy white towels.

Master Bedroom #1 - Coral Room
Kingsize bed, adjoining den, walk-in closet, en-suite bathroom with rainfall shower over deep bathtub.  Louvered windows open from bathtub and shower to garden and sea view.

Three other bedrooms on the Main Level offer identical optional kingsize or twin beds, en-suite bathrooms with spacious marble walk-in showers, and private balconies with  lovely views over the golf course to the sea.

While the two Master Bedrooms (Coral and Blue Rooms) each come with adjoining office alcove and deep marble bathtub, all bedrooms are virtually identical and luxurious.

Maximum occupancy in 6 bedrooms + extra beds is 17 guests.  Additional guests can be accommodated as follows:
2 on open-air balcony loft king bed (use powder room in entrance hall)
Rent 3 twin beds and add to Games Room (use full bath across walkway)

Open-Air Gym With Sea View
Twenty steps below the pool terrace is the open-air private gym with Woodway treadmill, Octane Pro 3500 Elliptical Cross Trainer (Stairmaster, ArmBlaster, etc.), crunch bench, ProSpot P500 Universal, mats, free weights to 45 lbs. and flat screen TV.

For large groups and family reunions, Viviana's nearby sister villas are SUNDANCE, INFINITY, COO YAH and BUMPER'S NEST.

The Tryall Club Membership

A significant amenity for guests in this villa is membership at the excellent Tryall Club.  On 2,200 acres, Tryall’s golf course is among the most beautiful in the world.  Its 18 hillside and seaside fairways have been home to the Johnnie Walker, Mazda and other PGA championship events.  The resident pro offers workshops and private lessons.   The Tryall tennis club features nine Nova Cushion courts, some lit for night play, with world-class pro’s on call.  All whites required. 

The beach is well planned for parents and children. Have lunch at the beach bar.  Work out in the well-equipped gym and compete in the new Usain Bolt Games Room at the Great House (teens love it).  Jog the marked trails. Snorkeling, kayaking, hobie cat and sunfish are complimentary.  Glass bottom boats, charter fishing, a boat to the reef and any captained craft attract various fees.  Enjoy the week’s events, including the Monday Night Manager’s Cocktail Party and the Wednesday and Friday night beach parties and buffets.

On the hill, enjoy the historic Great House for daily 4:00 tea and sweets. Shop at the convenient commissary and chic boutique, and meet for happy hour and snacks at the casual bar.  Also at the Great House is the new Usain Bolt Games Room open all day and night for ping pong, pool, air hockey, foosball, shuffleboard, chess and checkers, board games, comfy reclining chairs and HDTV. And don’t miss the massive Tryall pool (ping pong table there too). The Tryall Club is thoughtfully designed to please toddlers, preteens, tweens, moms, dads and everyone from teens to octogenarians.

*Tryall Club Temporary Membership Fee

Tryall is a private club whose members may use most Club facilities at no charge with the exception of golf, food and beverage, and spa services. Complimentary amenities include the beach, most water sports, tennis, the excellent gym, the Hummingbird Kids Club, Great House afternoon tea, the Manager's Cocktail Party and various special events.

The Tryall Club requires all villa and condo guests to become members during their stay via a Temporary Membership Fee of US$100 per week for each guest 18 or older, or US$20 per day per person for stays of less than 7 days.

Plan to pay your Temporary Membership Fee locally at the Front Desk in the Great House when you register. Credit cards are accepted. You will be given a temporary membership card to enable your access to all Club facilities.
