When Round Hill was only an undeveloped knob of lush green hillside rising over the sea, one man had the good fortune to have his choice of lots, and the wisdom to choose that piece of land most favored by the sun and prevailing tradewinds ... which also happened to have one of the most spectacular views in all the Caribbean. The result is a home privately tucked into the east side of Round Hill, away and apart from all others, yet literally minutes from the amenities of the famous resort.
Less than a quarter mile brings one from Round Hill’s gatehouse entrance to Hillside Villa. The living room is done in casual furniture on white marble floors. Walls feature a collection of fine original art. The room opens through a 22' window wall to a balcony overlooking the pool and ten-mile stretch of sea that separates Round Hill from the opposing town of Montego Bay. Each night the lights of Montego Bay dance across the water, forming part of the magic of this prize location.
Candlelight dinners are served in the outdoor dining arbor. Later, the butler serves coffee and after-dinner drinks on the balcony, giving guests one last experience of the mesmerizing view and ocean breezes before retiring.
The Round Hill beach and hotel are a 7-minute walk down the tree-lined lane just outside Hillside's door. The hotel offers free tram service for the one-minute ride to the beach.
A 4 seater golf cart is available for rent for a flat rate of $250 per week.
Fay, the cook, has been here for 15 years and is gifted with talents that rival the island's finest chefs.
Hillside Villa shares 10 acres with its sister property Seaside Cottage ... a staffed 4-bedroom villa just above the sea and 100 meters downhill from Hillside. The two can be rented together to create a marvelous eight-bedroom compound with two swimming pools and a staff of eight. Dinners and other events can be arranged for all guests together at either property.
The new 4-seater golf cart is available for rent for a flat rate of $250 per week.

A significant amenity for guests in this villa is membership at the excellent Tryall Club. On 2,200 acres, Tryall’s golf course is among the most beautiful in the world. Its 18 hillside and seaside fairways have been home to the Johnnie Walker, Mazda and other PGA championship events. The resident pro offers workshops and private lessons. The Tryall tennis club features nine Nova Cushion courts, some lit for night play, with world-class pro’s on call. All whites required.

The beach is well planned for parents and children. Have lunch at the beach bar. Work out in the well-equipped gym. Jog the marked trails. Snorkeling, kayaking, hobie cat and sunfish are complimentary. Glass bottom boats, charter fishing, a boat to the reef and any captained craft attract various fees. Enjoy the week’s events, including the Monday Night Manager’s Cocktail Party and the Wednesday and Friday night beach parties (Friday Seafood Night on the Beach Buffet is excellent).

On the hill, enjoy the historic Great House for afternoon tea and a magnificent view from the terrace. Shop at the commissary and boutique, meet for happy hour at the bar, and browse a wealth of Jamaican, Haitian and Cuban works and souvenirs in the Gallery of West Indian Art. And don’t miss the massive Tryall pool!
