Calypso is a charming open-air villa adjacent to the 16th fairway of the championship The Tryall Golf Course. Its lush grounds are graced by palm, lime, avocado, grapefruit, papaya, and poinciana trees, brilliant hibiscus and bougainvillea, and a beautiful lavender orchid tree.
The beautiful living room has four deep-cushioned sofas and mahogany Queen Anne tables under a high rafter-and-beam ceiling. This room connects to the adjacent study with 20" Sony television and French doors to a shaded grove. From the living room, an 18-foot window wall opens to the large pool terrace paved in a pattern of circular brick. Just beyond the pool is a sculpted waterfall from which crystal clear water cascades through glistening palms into the pool below.
While the pool and open terrace enjoy all-day sunshine, deep eaves provide shade over a wicker sitting area, card table and dining table. Graceful pink and white bougainvillea adorn the terrace while a hedgerow of red hibiscus provides total privacy. On request, the staff will serve dinner under the eaves ... or on the far pool terrace under a stunning star-filled sky.
The orchard just outside guarantees oranges for fresh-squeezed juice each morning, tangerines, orangerines, limes, custard apples and the best home-made marmalade of papaya, mango and ackee.
While private and self-contained, Calypso is only minutes from The Tryall's golf and tennis pro shops, beach club, boutiques, bar and restaurant ... easily reached by the complimentary shuttle or golf carts. The Great House verandah is legend for its afternoon teas and cocktail hours that drift into breathtaking sunsets.
For larger groups, Calypso can be rented with its neighboring villa, Seafore, for a combined total of eight bedrooms, two pools and staff of nine including two cooks. All guests may enjoy meals together at either villa.
