| Located atop the peaceful hillside
known as Great River Private, Sospiro enjoys a magnificent panoramic ocean
view. It is reached by a paved lane that weaves through manicured acres
of fruit-bearing and flowering trees. Opposite the front door is a tall
curved stone fountain built into the natural rock wall of the mountain.
Two smaller fountains border the portico.
The house is surrounded on three sides by a sloping grassy lawn abundant with coconut palms, naseberry, soursap and lime trees (all bearing fruit), and flowering hibiscus, bougainvillea and datura ... making the grounds resemble a park. Strolls around the lawn or up the lane in the early morning and late afternoon are delightful. Forty-two feet of sliding glass doors are opened early each morning, turning the living room into an open-air pavilion. Topped by a peaked driftwood rafter-and-beam ceilings, the feeling here is spacious and airy. The living room and all three bedrooms open directly onto the paved pool terrace. Adjacent to the pool terrace is the covered verandah where delicious home-cooked meals are served ... with the glorious Caribbean Sea and Montego Bay always in sight. Through mahogany columns are the inside dining room and bar area. Italian tiles, ornamental wall sconces, hand-painted mirrors, mahogany louvres, rattan, white canvas and colorful chintz complement the interior design. ACCOMMODATIONS
