Information about the Villa Vacation

Years ago, Serenity was built by Sir Arthur and Lady Lorna Howard of England. Today‘s owners, also from England, have skillfully renovated it into a comfortable cottage filled with books, classical music, and Jamaican and British charm. Its laid-back style is comfy, casual and tasteful.

On two levels, Serenity features upstairs and downstairs sitting rooms. Two kingsize bedrooms are on the main level on either end of the living room and facing the sea. The third bedroom is downstairs by the walkway to the large private pool. All bedrooms have quiet remote control air conditioning, cable televisions, French doors to balconies, and en-suite bathrooms recently renovated with halogen lights and immaculate white Corian.

The main living room is on the entrance level. This airy space opens through sliding mahogany doors to a large breezy balcony that overlooks the pool, soft sloping lawn and lovely ocean view. Behind the living room is a cozy garden breezeway with card table. Lovers of classical music and opera will be delighted with the Aiwa sound system and generous selection of CD’s.

The kitchen and al fresco dining verandah are on the lower level. A paved walkway leads across the lawn to a charming second dining area and outdoor stone grill under a flowering trellis.

If you’ve left your pets behind while you take a vacation, be advised that Serenity is home to our lovable dogs, Scruffy and Pansy. They tend to stay in the yard but occasionally come through the house for a brief pat. They are friendly with adults and children alike and can be kept outside all week if you prefer.

Note: Serenity at Tryall is not to be confused with Serenity on the Beach, a four-bedroom villa five miles east of Tryall.

TRYALL CLUB MEMBERSHIP

Significant is Serenity’s location on the 2,200-acre Tryall Club. Among the world’s most beautiful golf courses, Tryall’s 18 hillside and seaside fairways have been home to the Johnnie Walker, Mazda and other PGA championship events. In-house greens fees are offered to Serenity guests. The resident pro offers workshops and private lessons. Complimentary shuttles or Serenity’s own golf cart transports guests from the front door to all locations within the resort. Spend days on the sunny beach while waiters serve food and drink from the beach bar. Play tennis on Classic Clay or Nova Cushion courts, (two lit for night play). Jog the marked trail; use the fitness room and high-speed Internet room. Snorkeling, kayaking, hobie cat and sunfish sailing are complimentary. Glass bottom boats, charter fishing, a boat to the reef and any captained craft attract various fees. Enjoy the historic Great House with commissary, bar, cigar shop and fine jewelry store. Here, too, is the Great House Restaurant for Continental and Jamaican cuisine should you wish to dine away from the villa.

Tryall is consistently chosen by Conde Nast for its Gold List of
"the best places to stay in the whole world.”
