Naseberry Hill is a charming old colonial Jamaican plantation
house. Its wooden plank floors and full-height sash windows evoke the
warmth and simplicity of old Jamaica. The lawns are shaded by six naseberry
trees which bear delicious fruit. A 20-acre nature preserve and bird sanctuary
surround the house. Doves and parrots abound. Behind the villa is a woodland
with walking trails and horse trails.
In the living room are contemporary features of cable television and
sound system with additional speakers on the verandah. Tall French doors
open to a long cut-stone verandah that fronts the entire house. This furnished
porch overlooks the pool and barbecue area. Guests can dine inside at
the long mahogany table under an old brass chandelier ~ or more casually
on the verandah or pool terrace surrounded by flowering vines and hummingbirds.
Child-friendly, Naseberry Hill has a cupboard stocked with toys and games,
Playstation 2 in the children's room, a ping pong table and a playground
with slide and swings. Also adult-friendly, connecting to the Master Bedroom
is a small air-conditioned office with computer and Internet access.
Three resorts are five minutes down the hill by car. Half Moon has a
lively shopping village, designer shops, English pub, bars, restaurants,
water sports, golf, tennis and excellent medical facility. The world-class
Ritz Carlton has superb shops, restaurants and a challenging golf course.
Also five minutes away by car is the four-star Wyndham
Rose Hall Resort & Country Club and water park where Naseberry
Hill guests enjoy full membership privileges. Colorful Montego Bay, the
"hip strip" and wonderful Doctor's Cave Beach with gym/sauna,
water sports and Groovy Grouper Restaurant are just 20 minutes away. Ten
minutes east is Rose Hall Beach with sailing, windsurfing, sailfish, glass
bottom boat, jet skis, diving and snorkeling, beach volleyball, bar and
restaurant, and sunset cruises.
