| When Round Hill was only an undeveloped
knob of lush green hillside rising over the sea, one man had the good fortune
to have his choice of lots, and the wisdom to choose that piece of land most favored
by the sun and prevailing tradewinds ... which also happened to have one of the
most spectacular views in all the Caribbean. The result is a home privately tucked
into the east side of Round Hill, away and apart from all others, yet literally
minutes from the amenities of the famous resort. The Round Hill beach and hotel are a 7-minute walk down the tree-lined lane just outside Hillside's door. The hotel offers free tram service for the one-minute ride to the beach. Hillside Cottage boasts one of the finest staffs on the North Coast of Jamaica. Fay, the cook, has been here for 13 years and is gifted with talents that rival the island's finest chefs. Hillside Cottage
shares 10 acres with its sister property Seaside Cottage ... a sparkling new staffed
4-bedroom villa just above the sea and 100 meters from Hillside. The two can be
rented together to create a marvelous eight-bedroom compound with two swimming
pools and a staff of eight. Dinners and other events can be arranged for all guests
together at either property. ACCOMMODATIONS
A special feature is Hillside Cottages location within Round Hill ... one of the finest private resorts on Jamaica's North Coast. Membership entitles guests to access Round Hill's private beach, fitness center (treadmill, free weights, rowing machine and guided aerobics) and tennis on hard-surface courts lighted for night play and with pro on call. (Charges apply to lessons and ball boys.) For additional charges, members may enjoy the spa, Pineapple Kids Club, a range of water sports and parties (Monday beach party, Wednesday Caribbean Curry Night, Friday Jamaica Night). Hill was chosen by Conde Nast for inclusion on its Gold List of "the
best places to stay in the whole world."
