What Others Have to Say about Coo Yah

“Coo yah!” is patois for “Look here!” And when you look, you find a golfer’s paradise: a beautiful private home just steps from the 13th green and 14th tee of the world-class Tryall Club course, with a long view of the velvet fairway rolling down to the blue Caribbean Sea.

Interiors are cheerful, tasteful and immaculate … rainbow shades of soft yellow, green, aqua and pink over cool floors of salmon-hued tile. A distinctive architectural feature of Coo Yah is the repetition of wide louvers in every room and passageway, creating an extraordinary sense of space and Caribbean lifestyle.

Centrally located is the 66’ private pool and long terrace with plenty of seating in sun or shade. The terrace is fringed in romantic pink pandora and lilac wisteria.

Delicious home-cooked meals can be served in the pretty inside dining room, but most guests prefer to dine on the spacious 80’ al fresco verandah for its lovely view. The modern kitchen includes granite countertops, a six-burner gas range, microwave and adjoining butler’s pantry. Chef Angela delights guests with her hot artichoke dip, pate, chestnuts wrapped in bacon blanket, cheese soufflé, (a must-have for lunch), sweet and sour pork, pepper steak, stuffed snapper, lemon bread and rum cake (in addition, of course, to her Jamaican menus including everyone’s favorite, jerk chicken). Artfully coordinated table service varies with each meal.

TRYALL CLUB MEMBERSHIP

Significant is Coo Yah's location on the 2,200-acre Tryall Club. Among the most beautiful golf courses in the world, Tryall’s 18 hillside and seaside fairways have been home to the Johnnie Walker, Mazda and other PGA championship events. In-house greens fees are offered to Coo Yah guests. The resident pro offers workshops. Complimentary shuttles or Coo Yah's own golf carts transport guests from the villa’s front door to all locations within the resort. Spend days on the sunny beach while waiters serve you from the beach bar.Play tennis on 4 Classic Clay and 5 Nova Cushion courts (2 lit for night play) ~ all white required. Jog the trails and work out in the fitness room. Snorkeling, kayaking, hobie cat and sunfish sailing are complimentary. Glass bottom boats, charter fishing, a boat to the reef and any captained craft attract various fees. Enjoy the historic Great House with bar, boutiques and art gallery. Here, too, is the Great House Restaurant for Continental and Jamaican dining should you wish to dine away from the villa an evening or two. Tryall is truly one of the distinctive private clubs of the world.

The Tryall Club was chosen by Conde Nast for inclusion on its Gold List of
"the best places to stay in the whole world."
