The villa rent
Exceptions to $29 extra guest fee |
This buys you exclusive use of the fully-staffed villa and all amenities that
come with it as described on each villa page. Rates are based on double occupancy
per bedroom. Additional guests, if allowed, attract additional
charges. For guests in excess of double occupancy, an extra-guest charge of
$29 per night will apply. This fee is waived for infants under 6 months of age. | ||
| Groceries |
Estimating grocery costs is not a science. Much depends on the menus you want
and current market prices. Our best estimate after 22 years of buying groceries
in Jamaica appears below. Obviously, An
approximate food budget is $45 per adult per day (more in some villas as listed
below) and $20 per day for preteens. If you request shrimp, lobster, imported
beef or large quantities of other food items, this estimate will increase.
Your cook will pre-purchase your first few meals, pantry staples and a small
starter bar (a few bottles of Red Stripe, moderately-priced wine and rum).
Additional alcohol requests will increase your budget. Our cooks are happy to prepare separate meals for children and serve them prior to the adults' dinner hour. We can provide cribs and high chairs on request. Staff in all our villas love children. Also, employment of a nanny enables the best of all holiday worlds: carefree parents ~ and children being cared for close by. Our nannies work for $30-$60 per day depending on whether you want them to swim with your children and live in at night. | Staff gratuities |
We recommend a total gratuity equal to 10% of the villa rent during High Season and 15% during Low Season.* This should be paid in cash to your staff at the end of your stay. (Good Hope and Silent Waters require prepayment of gratuities) | ||
| Damage deposit | A $500 damage deposit also is required; we will refund this promptly when you return home if no damage occurs during your stay. (Damage Deposit is higher in a few villas.) | ||
| Ground transportation
| We
can rent a self-drive car for you. Alternatively, we recommend our excellent drivers
and their air-conditioned vans. For a villa in the Montego Bay area, airport transfers will cost $70 or $80 round trip; for Discovery Bay $140; Ocho Rios $200 and Good Hope Plantation $160. We can also arrange a fulltime driver for $775 per week or $111 per day, plus 15% gratuity. A full schedule of rates can be found by clicking here. | ||
